A monolithic wall transforms into a multi-metaphorical device for actors, dancers and an opera singer to explore the existential boundaries of being and nothingness. The inventive and physical attributes of the wall that folds and turns and becomes its own character is a brilliant and sophisticated set piece for the five performers to react to and confront. The music was sparse, operatic and haunting while the lightning created the mood, loneliness and shadow work to enhance the overall experience. Inspired by the wordplay and writings of Georges Perec; a member of the French, Oulipo from the 1960’s. A literary group seeking new patterns and structures to incorporate into the writers methods and constructions.
