Weigh of the World is a sobering look at two contrasting panels as extreme as a rainbow and a mine field. Inspired to look at these two extremes as a philosophical query, JMe presents the viewer with a colorful field of paint, beads, and gloss medium on the left and the monochrome grey of burnt ashes, dust, and debris on the right. The diptych is meditative as we look back and forth between the contrasting surfaces. The irony being that the colorful more appealing panel is primarily made of plastic material (human made) while the grey surface on the right is burnt paper and wood material, natural in its essence.
