Unlike larger canvases utilizing the repurposed components from discarded stencil elements, JMe’s Phoenix Heart sizzles with layers of crimson, magenta, burnt orange and cadmium yellow transparencies. Using a water atomizer to achieve multiple thin layers of glossy warm hues the painting contains an inner depth and jumbled composition to suggest strength within chaos and passion reignited after each physical peak. Phoenix Heart displays the visual cues and a solid sense of composition while harnessing a potent visceral power all packed into a small-sized canvas. This is one of JMe’s favorite diminutive canvases.
