Kat Alvarado will introduce her new art in an exhibition titled “Like Him.” Kat is a Visual Arts DP student at Eagle Rock High School. She approached me via email and by coming to my studio (with her mom) to see if I would be willing to open my studio/gallery to her for her senior thesis, which, besides having to create the artwork, required her to find a suitable space and create an opening atmosphere to educate her and her class about the behind-the-scenes workings of arranging an exhibition. It was a success, and Kat sold many pieces. I enjoy supporting young artists when I can.
