Created from the remnants of wood working scraps from a celebrity’s Malibu home, these fragments and pieces were gathered by JMe around a laser cutting machine while waiting to pick up his own laser cut project. The wooden fallout represents a variety of shapes including fleury, circles, squares and diamonds. The painting would gradually evolve into a cosmological explosion inspired by his reading of the ancient ruins of Delphi. JMe sponged dark mixtures of Phthalocyanine blue and Ivory black on to the surface to give the blast an undulating texture but also to stabilize the bits and pieces underneath the visual plane. The large colorful areas were splattered, dripped and rolled on the surface and then sprayed with water to thin the pigment ultimately creating a great timeless effect.
